Odyssey – The landmark architectural art installation.
Commissioned by Exempla Group for the prestigious and boutique development, the fixed installation was conceived as the defining architectural feature of the building.
Standing over six metres tall, this monolithic installation seamlessly integrates light with WiFi-controlled LED systems, transforming throughout the day and night. Developed in partnership with Turco & Associates Architects and international lighting partner LIFX, the artwork became part of the architecture itself – blurring the line between art, design and technology.
Designed to capture attention at distance from both inside and outside the building, this back-lit architectural art installation creates an unmistakable sense of arrival. More than a statement piece, it establishes the identity of the space, offering residents and visitors an experience that evolves with light and rewards repeated discovery.
The idea for the piece grew out of a broader ambition: to blur the line between art and architecture in a city where public art was becoming part of the conversation. Rather than being added once the building was complete, the artwork shaped the entrance itself, the developer, architect and artist working from a shared vision from the outset.
Tommy explains: “The architecture was considered around the artwork rather than it being an afterthought. We really wanted to start some waves, a real collaboration between developer, architect and artist. Uncommon, yes, but we took advantage of our visions being aligned, which was an exciting opportunity for all of us.”
